Always Order Small

Always Order Small

May 23, 2021

Walk into a café in the USA, order a regular latte and you’ll get an overflowing bucket; walk into a café in Japan, make the same order and you’ll get half a shot-glass. What is a normal portion? It’s amazing how, after just a few weeks in Japan, the pipette of coffee suddenly seems just about right and a return to the western portions is overwhelming. A more important question than ‘what is normal’, is ‘how much do I need?’. It’s a fact that you stop consciously tasting your food after about ten mouthfuls and the remainder is just taken on for sustenance. My mantra is, ‘always order small’. Whatever the item, most of the time, a small portion delivers the flavour, satisfaction and sustenance in just the right quantity. So, while others are groaning trying to digest the untasted XL portions, Never Follow and enjoy every mouthful of a satisfying portion that’s just right. Bon apatite.
