Pain for Pleasure
Now we’re not talking about 50 shades of grey, tattoos and creepy basements but instead pushing our sporting exertions beyond the tough and into pain. The levels of pain are no different between any of us and the professionals feel the same pain as you and me. The only difference is the point at which in the activity the pain comes calling. Every time we push ourselves to the extreme and start to suffer, we move our pain scales slightly further along the tracks or excursion. This means that when we next summon up the courage to go full guns, the pain will kick in slightly later and the threshold of sustainability will be slightly longer. However, on cresting the summit and slamming the door on the pain, endorphins are released and with them a surge of positive energy that is addictive. This wave of euphoria is the prize for your efforts but it can’t be bottled and each time you’ll have to go harder and further to win it. Never follow, keep chasing that fabulous feeling of awesomeness that rewards your fiercest sporting suffering.
